Since being made to feel very welcome on arriving in Chudleigh in May 2004, we have gone on to making many new friends and acquaintances over the time we have been ‘frying’ and continuing to provide honest, good value, fine tasting fish & chips for our valued customers.
Our delicious skinless and boneless regular size cod (approx 8 ozs), is sourced from sustainable fish stocks in both the North Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and is coated with our special mix of crispy golden batter. For the really hearty appetite our large cod takes some beating.
Increasingly popular is our regular and large sized haddock, as is our recently introduced plaice coated in golden breadcrumbs. Both these delicious varieties making a viable alternative to the more normal cod.
Most tastes are catered for in our wide range of complimentary fare, including fish cakes, sausages, chicken, mushy peas, baked beans, mushy pea fritters, chicken nuggets, beef burgers, scampi, cods roe, curry sauce, plus of course delicious Pukka Pies, available in steak & kidney, chicken & mushroom & all steak, not forgetting traditional Cornish pasties, and for the vegetarians, cheese & onion pasties.
All our deep fried food is cooked in high quality non-hydrogenated vegetable oil, which is filtered every day and completely replaced each week. The half a tonne of Maris Piper potatoes that we use every week are, wherever possible, sourced locally and are peeled and chipped on the premises every day.
Hours of opening are 5 - 8.30 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday, and we look forward to seeing both regular and new customers alike. We have had many compliments paid to us over the time we have been at The Chudleigh Chippy, with regular customers coming from far and wide as well as from the local outlying areas such as Chudleigh Knighton, Hennock, Trusham, Dunchideock, etc.
